It is my pleasure, as President of the Algerian Energy Committee, Member of the World Energy Council, to invite you to Oran at the 2011 WEC Executive Assembly meeting which will be held in Oran from 20 to 24 November 2011. The Algerian Energy Committee is delighted to serve as the host at this international event for the World Energy Community.
Algeria, as an important player on the international energy scene is proud to be the meeting place for debate and exchange on key global energy issues. We are committed to taking all necessary arrangements to ensure that the Executive Assembly meeting will be one of the most successful events hosted by a member country.
Oran, the second largest city in Algeria is located at 450 km west of Algiers. It is also a region which economy and trade are booming, with major industrial areas which includes several large energy infrastructures, including liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant, refinery, petrochemical plants, power plants, etc... .
The Convention Centre of Oran, which is the venue for hosting the Executive Assembly, was designed to meet the highest standards.
We would be delighted to offer technical visits coupled with social tours to Oran or far from Oran to the splendours of the Sahara, Ghardaia with its remarkable architecture or Tlemcen, the city of Art and History.
I wish you a pleasant stay in Algeria during and after the Executive Assembly meeting and hope you will find time to explore and discover the culture and environment of our country.
